Franklinton alderman to hold downtown revitalization meeting Thursday

The Town of Franklinton will hold a meeting with business owners, employees and anyone interested in assisting with revitalizing the downtown business district. Although Franklinton has grown recently, the downtown area has been overlooked. The more our downtown prospers, the better it is for all merchants as well as the economy of Franklinton. Every successful town/city has a thriving downtown area that encourages and invites new businesses and new consumers.
The meeting will be held on Thursday, Aug. 25 at 6 p.m. at Franklinton Town Hall.
The purpose of this meeting is to establish a functioning Downtown Business District Committee to lead everyone in determining what’s needed and wanted in the downtown area. The committee can choose to become a member of the Louisiana Downtown Development District, the Louisiana Main Street program, and use your own creative ideas to improve downtown Franklinton. From short-term plans to long-term goals, there’s no limit to what can be achieved in our town.
Alderman Heath Spears and Alderman John Daniel will serve as representatives from the Town of Franklinton and assist this committee in any way possible from the Town’s standpoint. The Town of Franklinton realizes the importance of a successful downtown area and how it affects the entire town.
Everyone is invited to the meeting. Spread the word and bring friends who are also interested. This project will be more successful with the support and input from everyone in Franklinton.
