Bogalusa’s Lumberjacks head to Loranger tomorrow night, going for their first win of the 2016 season.

The Lumberjacks have gotten off to a tough start this season. The team is 0-4 and is coming off a 16-0 loss to Salmen on Friday night, in a game they had to play without starting quarterback Thomas Turner, who was out with an injury.

Bogalusa coach David Roberts said Turner will be back for the Loranger game. The game is being played tomorrow instead of Friday, because the Tangipahoa Parish Fair is this week.

Friday night’s loss was the second time Bogalusa has been shut out this season.

Running back Javon Tate ran for 48 yards.

Roberts said the defense is doing well.

“We’ve got older kids on defense,” Roberts said. “Even though we’re relatively young, we’ve got more experience on that side of the ball. A lot of those guys played last year as sophomores.” Roberts said. “The offense, we’re still young.”

Roberts said end Tramarcus Levi, nose guard Cody Sumrall, lineman Joemon Roberts, linebacker O’Trevious Gatlin and strong safety Tate all played well against Salmen.

Loranger won last year’s game, 34-28.

“We’ve got another tough one,” Roberts said. “Loranger is athletic. They’ve got a good offensive and defensive line. They’re well coached.”

The Wolves come into this week with a 2-2 record. Last week, Loranger defeated Amite, 36-26.

Following Thursday’s game, Bogalusa’s next four games will be district contests before capping off the regular season Nov. 4 in a home game against Holy Cross.
