FHS athletes among top-3 finishers

Franklinton’s Porsha Delatte, Drahcir Magee and the Lady Demons 4×100 relay team all finished in the top three at the 2017 CHS-Allie Smith Invitational that took place Thursday at Covington High School.
Delatte took was runner-up in the 100-meter hurdles, as she ran the event in 16.98 seconds.
Northshore’s Katherine Strahan was the winner at 15.78.
Magee was third in the high jump at 4 feet, 10 inches. She tied St. Thomas Aquinas’ Jordan Strahan, but Strahan won the tiebreaker for second place. The tiebreaker is fewest misses. Northshore’s Strahan cleared the bar at 5-0 to win.
Franklinton’s 4×100 team took third place with a time of 51.66 seconds.
The group featured Jada Thompson, Jayln Bickham, Raelyn Gross and Tellise Magee. Fontainebleau ran a 50.09 to win.
The 4×200 team was fourth with a time of 1 minute, 51 seconds. The team had Bickham, Gross, India Dickerson and Tellise Magee. Slidell posted a time of 1:48 for the win.
Franklinton had several more individual athletes finish in the top 10 including, Tellise Magee, Danaria Magee, Aleria Dillon, Marlaysia Robertson and Gross.
Tellise Magee tied Amite’s Vakayla Burton for ninth in the long jump, as both jumped 14-8. Drahcir was 12th in the event, going 14-5. Slidell’s De’Andra Lemalle won with a distance of 17-10.
Dillon and Robertson were fifth and ninth, respectively, in the shot put with distances of 29-3 and 27-9. Slidell’s Ravae Cox was victorious at 34-9.5
Danaria Magee threw the javelin 82-2 for eighth place. Archbishop Hannan’s Caroline Standley won at 114-8.
Gross ran the 100 in 13.11 for sixth place. Deja Conerly was 14th, finishing in 13.51. Fontainebleau’s Ezra McCaw bested the event in 12.07.
Danaria Magee was 17th in the discus with a distance of 64-9. Lakeshore’s Ashley Ducre topped everybody at 108-9.
Tamirria Thomas ran the 200 in 30.97 for 17th. McCaw was the victor in 25.26.
Drahcir Magee and Tiara James were 22nd and 23rd respectively for the 400 with times of 1:15.35 and 1:15.92. Slidell’s Kayla Wilson won in 1:00.
Fontainebleau won the team competition with 96.5 points, as 15 teams tallied points.
Slidell was second at 83, followed by Mandeville’s 68, Ponchatoula’s 47.5 and Northshore’s 46.
Franklinton was eighth with 26.5 points.
