Antonio Dillon, 33, a resident of Old Columbia Road north of Franklinton, is back in the Washington Parish Jail for the tenth time, according to reports from the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Chief Deputy Mike Haley of the WPSO said that Dillon was arrested by WPSO detectives for the early April burglary of a residence on Old Lake Road in the Richardson area north of Franklinton.

On April 5, residents returned home to discover that a burglar had stolen numerous household goods, including a safe which contained cash and numerous personal items such as birth certificates, social security cards, vehicle titles, insurance papers and tax documents. Detectives immediately responded and began an investigation, collecting fingerprints and other evidence.

Fingerprints were sent to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office crime lab, which was able to match them to Dillon. On Thursday, detectives located Dillon and arrested him, Haley said. The investigation is continuing and additional arrests are possible.

Dillon is in the Washington Parish Jail charged with burglary, criminal damage to property, theft of firearms and being a convicted felon in possession of firearms. At this time, bond has not been set.

Haley said that Dillon’s previous stays in the Washington Parish Jail began in 2006 on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, and resisting an officer. He was back in jail twice in 2007 and again in 2009. In 2011, he was arrested for drug possession and in 2012 he was charged with three counts of aggravated domestic violence. He was jailed again in 2014 for possession of stolen property, possession of marijuana and failure to appear in court. He faced another failure to appear charge in 2016 and parole violation in 2017. He was released from jail on March 27, and placed back in jail for the tenth time on April 27.

“This career criminal has been plaguing Washington Parish far too long,” Washington Parish Sheriff Randy Seal said. “Now is the time for him to be vigorously prosecuted and sent to prison for a very long sentence. Every law-abiding citizen in our parish will be safer with Dillon behind bars.

“I congratulate our fine detectives for vigorously pursuing this matter and making the arrest.”
