Penny Moses was named the Louisiana “Adult Education Administrator of the Year” at the recent conference of the LAPCAE (Louisiana Association for Public, Community, and Adult Education) in New Orleans.

During the Aug. 1 awards ceremony, Moses was recognized for her achievements as the Washington Parish adult education supervisor.

Co-workers stated that Moses has provided committed, consistent, and dedicated service working with the community in providing adult education for students in Washington Parish. As an educator, she has had the opportunity to impact the lives of hundreds of students, her colleagues added.

“My hope is that the vision of adult education remains a resource for the neediest,” Moses said.

Moses said that she is inspired by two of her favorite quotes. The first is by Mother Theresa, who said, “If you can’t feed a hundred people, then feed just one.” The second is by Winston Churchill, who said, “We make a living by what we get, but make a life by what we give.”

“I believe that these quotes should inspire all of us to persevere and help those who need it the most,” Moses said.

“Partners in Progress” was the theme of this year’s conference, which emphasized premier professional development for adult educators.
