Bowling Green School takes to the road tonight, as the Buccaneers travel to Centreville Academy for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
“We go in there. They’re playing pretty good. We’ve got to move the football better,” Bowling Green coach David Currier said. “We have the get the ball in Cam Bell’s hands more. Cam Brock and Larry Dillon are big-play guys. They have to play well and execute and we’ve got to get the ball in their hands as well.
“We have to block better. Defensively, we’ve got to slow them down. They’re going to get in that tight set, kind of a rugby scrum. We just can’t let them consistently move the ball down the field.”
Bowling Green enters this week with an 0-5 record. Last week, the Buccaneers suffered a 35-6 loss to Oak Forest Academy, which has been in the Class AAAA-Division 2 finals the last three years and won the title in 2014.
Currier said Bell, Brock and Dillon have been playing well offensively. Bell scored the team’s only touchdown last Friday on a 21-yard run.
Currier said that Gunner Peterson, Ben Bickham and Brock Hill have been playing well on the defensive side of the ball.
Currier said he would like for his team to be more physical.
“That’s been the problem all year offensively and defensively,” he said.
Centreville won last year’s matchup, 39-13.
Centreville comes into this week’s game with a 3-2 record. Centreville was victorious over Central Private School last week, 54-35.
