On Tuesday at 7:28 p.m., the Bogalusa Police Department received a call in reference to an armed robbery, according to BPD Public Information Officer Maj. Percy Knight.
“The (27-year-old) male victim, of Bogalusa, stated that he was driving his vehicle, and had stopped for a stop sign located at the intersection of Harrison and Villery Street,” Knight said. “According to the victim, while he was stopped, a black male approached his vehicle and tapped on the passenger side window. The victim rolled down the window and the black male asked for a lighter.
“During this time, another black male approached the vehicle with a handgun and demanded money. The first suspect reached into the vehicle, took a laptop computer bag and the two suspects fled on foot heading west on Villery Street.”
Knight said that BPD patrol officers searched the area for the two suspects, but were unable to locate them.
“The computer bag consisted of a Mac Book laptop computer, rare collectible cards, a company ledger, an occupational license, a journal and $400 cash,” Knight said. “This incident is currently under investigation by the BPD Detective Division.”
Anyone with information about the suspects in this incident is urged to call the Bogalusa Police Department at 985-732-3611.
