On Friday, May 25, Finding Favour and special guest Jonathon Waterman will be putting on a free concert at First Baptist Church in Franklinton, beginning at 7 p.m. First Baptist, whose sanctuary is located at 903 Cleveland St., will open its doors at 5:30 p.m. until seating capacity is reached.

Finding Favour is a contemporary Christian music band from Vidalia, Ga. Since they released their first studio EP entitled Finding Favour EP in 2013, they have received positive critical reception with hits like “Love Stepped In,” “Slip On By,” and “Shake Your World.” Their second album, Reborn, which saw three Top 25 hits, debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Christian Albums chart. Already charting Top 10 on iTunes’ Christian & Gospel albums chart, Farewell Fear is the follow-up to their acclaimed 2015 release, Reborn.

Finding Favour is a group of four men, Blake Neesmith, Dustin Daniels, Josh Duckworth and Allen Dukes, who all hail from Georgia and create music to bring glory to God in the mundane and glorious moments of life. Perhaps their most widely known single is “Say Amen.”

“‘Say Amen’ is a reminder of God’s undying faithfulness,” Neesmith said. “He’ll never leave us! He’ll never forsake us! So, let us take the good and the bad and remember that God has a purpose and a plan. In the fire, in the storms, or even in the calm we can stand and Say Amen!”

Each band member was raised in a Christian home and felt a calling to music ministry. After playing at youth camps across the country, the band signed a record deal with Gotee Records, and quickly gained momentum with their debut single, ‘Slip On By’, off their self-titled debut album. Finding Favour recently finished the Hits Deep Tour with TobyMac, Danny Gokey, Mandisa, and Ryan Stevenson.

Accompanying Finding Favour will be Jonathon Waterman. Originally from Kansas City, Mo., Waterman has been playing the guitar since the age of 11. Having played in his home church’s youth worship band for several years, it wasn’t until Waterman was in college that he began songwriting.

He says of his music, “I want to write music that people can relate to, grab a hold of, and know that whatever their circumstance, there’s a loving and faithful God who is wanting a relationship with them.”

Seating for the concert will be first-come, first-served until the sanctuary capacity is reached. This is a free concert; however, a love offering will be taken.

Both Finding Favour and Jonathon Waterman will have tables set up with merchandise, music, and more information.There will also be information on World Vision International, a global Christian humanitarian organization.
