COVINGTON — Pine and Bogalusa played in the 2018 Hannan Hustle Tournament that was held Dec. 27-29 at Archbishop Hannan.
Pine posted a 1-2 record while Bogalusa was 0-4.
The Lady Raiders, who played a game each day, lost their first game, 37-29, to Archbishop Hannan.
Pine rebounded the following day with a 36-21 win over Bogalusa.
Tasia Lewis led Bogalusa with nine points.
Ta’niya Brown posted seven points, while Chloe’ Foster had three and Shatiana Gamble added two. Brown made a 3-pointer.
Pine’s final game of the tournament was a 41-36 loss to St. Helena College & Career Academy on Dec. 27.
Bogalusa began the event with a 59-40 loss to St. Helena College & Career Academy.
The Lady Jacks trailed by just seven at halftime at 24-17.
St. Helena extended the lead to 33-21 at the 4:34 mark and then went scored seven unanswered points.
Jannyria Forbes and Melaje Hart made field goals and Sa’Rya Travis hit a 3-pointer for a 40-21 lead.
It was 44-30 at the end of three in the 59-40 game.
Lewis posted 11 points to lead the Bogalusa. She made a 3-pointer.
Brown tallied 10 points. She made a 3-pointer.
Dinasia Harris recorded six points while Foster had five, Mary Ladner scored four points and Christen Lowery added two. Foster made a 3-pointer.
Travis topped all scorers with 23 points. She made four 3-pointers.
La’Kira Lee posted 10 points.
Lyne Burton and Lee had eight points each while Khia Williams posted six points and Azziana West added two points for St. Helena.
Bogalusa played a pair of games the next day.
The first was a 63-30 loss to West St. John.
Lewis led Bogalusa with 13 points that included two 3-pointers.
Foster had seven while Brown posted six and Lowery logged four points. Foster and Lowery made a 3-pointer each.
The second game that day was the loss to Pine.
Bogalusa’s final game was a 48-27 loss to Archbishop Hannan.
Brown was Bogalusa’s leading scorer with 10 points.
Foster tallied seven points while Lewis posted four points and Tahj Odom, Prayja Bickham and Lowery all had two points.
