Mt. Hermon School’s Tevin Williams
Mt. Hermon School’s Tevin Williams is a two-sport athlete. The junior plays basketball and baseball.
On the court, Williams plays small forward. In baseball, Williams is a first baseman.
“He’s one of those, I call him a blue-collar player,” Mt. Hermon boys basketball coach Lester Jenkins said. “He’s the leader of the team. He’s a junior and he’s taken the leadership role pretty well. Everybody pretty much listens to him. You know yourself you don’t have to be a senior to be a leader.”
What do you enjoy most about playing your sports?
I love basketball because I get to face great competition.
What do you like best about being a student-athlete?
I get pushed harder by teachers and little kids look up to me.
Who has been the most influential person in your school sports career? Why?
My girlfriend (Dia’Monique Magee) because she was here when I wanted to give up and she told me to keep working hard.
Who is your favorite athlete? Why?
Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James because he knows how to pace a team, control a team, team tempo.
Favorite team?
Los Angeles Lakers.
Best thing about living in Washington Parish?
The best thing is when the fair comes around.
