In football, James plays wide receiver and safety.
“Jarvis James is a student that will strive to achieve. He does his best in competition,” Varnado track/field coach Cashanda Nichols said.
What do you enjoy most about playing your sports?
I enjoy the challenge of the competitors and how we go about running and winning.
What do you like best about being a student athlete?
I like the fact that it’s not all about sports. You can keep up your grades and still play football or run track.
Who has been the most influential person in your school sports career? Why?
My brother Quincy James because he was an inspiration to me because he did everything right in training and track. He ran at my house and he did everything at practice. He was pretty much my role model.
Who is your favorite athlete? Why?
(Golden State Warriors guard) Stephen Curry because the way he’s tried to perfect his game and the way he tried to win even without his key players. He strives to be great and that’s what I want to be one day is great.
Favorite team?
Golden State Warriors.
Best thing about living in Washington Parish?
Education system. If you go to any school, you will have a chance to go to college.
