Very early Saturday morning, Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division responded to Franklinton to investigate a murder that had just occurred. Officers quickly arrested three Tangipahoa Parish men and booked them into the Washington Parish Jail on a charge of the second-degree murder of Xykie Barker, 23, a resident of Tammy Lane, according to WPSO Chief Criminal Deputy Mike Haley.
The three Tangipahoa Parish men arrested were Elisha Brown, 19, a resident of Wood Scale Road in Hammond; Elijah Jaquarius Williams, 19, also a resident of Wood Scale Road in Hammond; and Travon Washington, 20, a resident of Driftwood Street in Amite.
The three men remain in jail waiting for bond to be set. Meanwhile, the investigation continues.
“Kudos to our detectives who were on the scene quickly and promptly made an arrest,” Washington Parish Sheriff Randy Seal said. “Such despicable acts will not be tolerated. Our officers are continuing this investigation, which was interrupted by Hurricane Ida. Meanwhile, the shooters are behind bars. Our officers have done their job and the fate of these men is now in the hands of the judicial system.”
