SLU Alumni Game, First Pitch Banquet

The Southeastern Louisiana University baseball program will host its annual Alumni Game and First Pitch Banquet, allowing fans multiple opportunities to interact with the 2015 squad, on Saturday, Feb. 7.

To kick off the day, the Lions will host an alumni game. Admission to the game is free and will feature Lion baseball alumni squaring off against the 2015 team. Batting practice begins at 10:30 a.m., and first pitch is slated for noon at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field.

The Lions will host the First Pitch Banquet at 7 p.m. in the third-floor ballroom of Southeastern’s War Memorial Student Union. Tickets are $50 and will allow fans the opportunity to meet and dine with the team. A pair of senior players are slated to speak at the banquet.

At the banquet, head coach Matt Riser will present the Lion For Life Award. Presented annually, the award goes to the Lion baseball alumnus who best represents the program through community involvement. Greg Marten, Ruth Kenelly and Gary Sandifer have received the award in the past.

Banquet tickets are available through the baseball office at 985-549-3566. Baseball alumni wishing to participate in the game are also asked to contact Riser in the baseball office.
