Ben’s Ford Christian School’s Daniel Pittman knocked down a pair of free throws with eight seconds left and Central Private missed a floater, as the Eagles were victorious, 45-44, in a District 6AA game at Central Private Thursday.
Pittman finished with 10 points.
The game was close throughout. Central Private led, 14-12, after the first quarter, and 25-24 by halftime.
Ben’s Ford had the game tied, 37-37, as the teams headed to the fourth quarter, before winning it late.
“It was a tough game to coach and play in. We never could get a good flow. We turned the ball over. We didn’t play good help defense. Thankfully we made more shots when it counted than they did,” Ben’s Ford coach Shadd Pittman said.
Bryan Johnson led the Eagles scoring attack with 16 points. He was one of three Ben’s Ford’s players in double figures. Destin Pittman posted 13 for the Ben’s Ford.
Jeremiah Slocum, Ashton Hines and Peyton Robbins all finished with two points for Ben’s Ford Christian School.
The Eagles are back in action Jan. 20 at Silliman. Junior varsity games begin at 4 p.m. with varsity following.
The game after that is Jan. 23 in another match up with Central Private. Once again, JV games start at 4 p.m., with varsity right after.
