The Rotary Club of Bogalusa recently held its annual luncheon to honor the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office Deputy of the year. This year, the distinguished award was presented to (WPSO) Drug Task Force Detective Kyle Stogner.
Stogner has been a part of the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office for the past 4 years. Stogner had eight years of service in the United States Army, including two tours in Iraq, before he joined the team at WPSO. During his time on the force, Stogner has taken on many difficult tasks. He has tackled drug-related issues head on, demonstrating great courage and dedication to the safety of our community. In 2022, Stogner and his team arrested 150 felons and seized cash from drug dealers, which contributed to the task force’s operations.
At the luncheon, Stogner gave an inspiring speech about the Drug Task Force and the work they do to keep Washington Parish safe. He discussed how they interact with local citizens and businesses, and how they use technology to stay ahead of the criminals. Stogner took questions from the Rotarians where he also discussed how the Drug Task Force works with other law enforcement agencies to ensure the safety of the parish. He emphasized the importance of cooperation among different departments and the need for continuous training and education in order to stay ahead of criminals. “Don’t always believe the negative you hear, there are a lot of good officers out there putting it on the line,” stated Stogner.
“Kyle protects our community with dedication and excellence. Congratulations to Detective Stogner for being named Deputy of the Year. The Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office is proud to call Kyle our own,” acknowledged Sheriff Randy Seal.
