Ben’s Ford’s Dantin, Perrette are going to state

Ben’s Ford Christian School’s Avery Dantin and Delaney Perrette are going to the state meet after qualifying in the Class 3A South State Meet.
Dantin came in second place in the 3,200 meters with a time of 17 minutes, 23 seconds. Providence Classical Academy won in 14:51.
Perrette was second in the triple jump with a distance of 29-2. Wilkinson County Christian Academy’s Kylie Bolden won at 32-7.
Wednesday’s meet included the 3,200 meters and the field events. The rest of the running events will be on April 29 at Canton Academy. The top four from each event are headed to state.
The Class 2A 3,200 meters and the field events will be on May 5 at Canton Academy. The rest of the running events will be on May 6 at Jackson Preparatory School.
In order to make it to South State, athletes needed to come in the top four of their district meet.
Ben’s Ford was the only school from Washington Parish in the meet.
Several more Ben’s Ford Christian School competed in the meet.
Andie Grace Hughes was fifth in the long jump at 12-2.75. Discovery Christian School’s Bella Applewhite won at 14-4.5.
Olivia Norwood and Gracie Willis were sixth and seventh in the discus with throws of 66-5 and 64-7. Claiborne Academy’s Alee Spigener won at 113-9.
Madeline Temples was seventh in the shot put at 22-2. Wilkinson County Christian Academy’s Mckenzie Bryant won at 27-4.
