District Attorney Collin Sims recently reported that on November 20, 2024, a Washington Parish grand jury indicted 30-year-old Virgil Rayford, Jr. of Bogalusa on two counts of filing false public records and one count of theft valued between $5,000 and $25,000.

The case results from a joint investigation conducted by the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation and the Louisiana Legislative Auditor’s Office regarding a bid proposal submitted to the City of Bogalusa in 2023 to provide mosquito abatement services for the city.

Assistant District Attorney Butch Wilson presented the case to the grand jury.
