Celebrate July 4 safely and patriotically

July 4 is tomorrow, and we want everyone to have a safe holiday.
For some, it’s a chance to get out and barbeque while for others it’s a chance to kick back, relax and enjoy a day off.
Whatever you do, we ask that you do everything safely. If you drink, please don’t drive. Let everybody have a safe holiday.
If you decide to go out on the water, please abide by the rules on the water. The most important thing is safety.
We enjoy barbequing, boating and relaxing because it’s fun and enjoyable. Let’s keep it fun for everybody.
If you are going to be outside, please keep in mind that it is summer time and it could get hot outside. Please take all of the safety precautions to stay hydrated.
Also, let’s not forget what Independence Day is all about.
It’s about our freedom. It’s about the fact that we have the freedom to enjoy whatever it is that we’re doing to celebrate the holiday.
So take a moment and thank a present or former person who is or was in the military. Take time to reflect on those who have lost their lives while fighting for our freedom.
Without them, we wouldn’t have the great country we have right now.
There are also a pair of events in Bogalusa set for tomorrow.
In the morning, there is a parade, which is sponsored by the American Legion, in Bogalusa. The event begins at 10 a.m.
In the evening, there is a fireworks display. They get going approximately 30 minutes after sunset.
Happy Independence Day to everyone.
